Why Concerned Women PAC Endorses:

In high school, Steve Chabot paid for his tuition at La Saille High School by sweeping floors and pumping gas after hours.  The experience taught him the value of a hard-earned income—and two decades later led to his reputation as a “fiscal hawk” in the United States House of Representatives.

In congress, Steve worked tirelessly to let Americans keep more of what they earn. He passed legislation that reduced the marriage penalty, cut income taxes for all American citizens and established a $1000-per-child tax credit.

Steve respects the values of a family-centered community—and brought those principles to Washington. He recognizes that strong families are the bedrock of a healthy-nation. In congress, he continually advanced pro-family legislation. He spearheaded the fight to end the gruesome practice of late-term abortion when he authored the federal law that banned partial-birth abortion.

Steve supports a constitutional amendment that defines marriage as between one man and one woman.  He firmly believes that “rogue judges and officials” who have allowed same-sex marriages in cities across the country have gone too far.

For these reasons CWPAC strongly endorses Steve Chabot for Ohio’s 1st congressional district. He is also endorsed by: Council for Citizens Against Government Waste and Citizens United Political Victory Fund, a PAC which supports strong conservative candidates.

While Steve’s opponent, Congressman Driehaus ran as a fiscally conservative candidate, his record in congress proves otherwise:

  • Voted in favor of so-called hate crimes, which would increase punishment for select crimes and  to classify homosexuals  as a special class.
  • Voted for Obama’s $700 Billion dollar bailout bill, pushing America even further into the deficit.
  • Voted for the so-called energy bill, called “Cap and Tax,” which would tax each American an additional $3,000-plus a year.

2010 Race Outlook:

Congressman Chabot advocated for strong conservative values in congress for 14 years, but in 2008 he lost the 1st congressional district to Driehaus by a mere 2 percent.  The narrow loss was due to the liberal voting spike provided by Obama’s election.

Since 2008, Americans have realized that the Obama administration’s liberal policies do not work for American families or their pocketbooks. Congressman Driehaus is on the list of the 10 liberal congressional seats most likely to be won by conservatives. As Obama’s poll numbers drop so does Driehaus’ chance of being reelected.

With your help, Steve can take back Ohio’s 1st district to be a voice for pro-family values and fiscal responsibility.
